Yuba-Sutter Fair Scholarship Competition Program

The Yuba-Sutter Fair Scholarship Competition Program is an experience that will educate and enrich the lives of young women in the Yuba-Sutter Community. Although mistaken as some sort of beauty pageant program, the Scholarship Program actually provides an opportunity for young women to learn valuable public speaking, interview, and performance skills in a completely positive environment.   The Scholarship Competition Program exists to bolster the self-esteem of young women and to honor them for their achievements and leadership skills.  Participants will work as an All-Star Team with other local young women in order to showcase the talented, youthful energy present in our community.

Who is Eligible?

Any young lady between the ages of 9 to 23 who has resided in the Yuba-Sutter area for at least 6 months prior to the Competition and a resident of the State of California for not less than one year prior to the opening date of the fair.  For further information, stop by the Fair Administration Office at 442 Franklin Avenue, Yuba City.

Mini-Miss

Contestant must be 9 years of age on or before August 1, 2012 and must not reach her 13th birthday by January 1, 2013.  (In other words, she cannot turn 13 anytime this year)

Miss Teen

Contestant must be 13 years of age on or before January 1, 2013 and must not reach her 17th birthday by January 1, 2013.  (In other words, she can be 12 ½  when she competes but must turn 13 by the end of this year.  She can also be 16 and a half, but cannot turn 17 before the year ends.)

Miss Yuba-Sutter / Miss Live Oak

Contestants must be 17 years of age on or before January 1, 2013 and must not reach her 23rd birthday by January 1, 2013.  (In other words, she can be 16 ½ years old but must turn 17 this year.  She cannot turn 23 by the end of the year.)
The Miss Yuba-Sutter participant receiving the 2nd highest point total will be crowned Miss Live Oak.
